The Sunny Time program, has been a stable program within our school over the last few years. It has helped support students who have a range of challengers, from anxiety, focus issues, emotional regulation challengers and many more. The Sunny Time program not only teachers students yoga and different poses, but it teachers students the benefits of yoga, but also teachers students what poses are useful strategies for different emotions. Students also learn other strategies such as breathing techniques and meditation to help them cope with the challengers they are facing. All sessions are followed up with a discussion and a hands on activity that gives students the opportunity to discuss and apply skills learnt in the sessions. This program is also facilitated by Rina the founder of Sunny Time Yoga who is wonderful and is able to engage and build rapport with students. Mitu also helps Rina facilitate the sessions and brought a calmness to session that helped students stay calm and and feel comfortable trying new things. I highly recommend the Sunny Time Yoga program, any school would be lucky to have it in their schools! Thank you Rina and Mitu.
