Healthy Apple Crumble!

Ingredients:

BASE:

6 Red Apples - I used pink lady

2tbs Rice Malt Syrup

1tbs Lemon juice

2tsp Cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

Pinch of salt

1 1/2 tvs plain flour- regular or gluten free depending on your dietary requirements

1/2 water

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

CRUMBLE:

1 cup of rolled oats or 1 cup of quinoa flakes for gluten free

1/2 cup of almond meal

2 tbs rice malt syrup

2tsp Cinnamon

1/4 cup of butter or coconut oil melted

Cream, natural yogurt or coconut yogurt to serve. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Method:

*Preheat oven 180

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

* Cut apples in thin slices, laying them in your baking dish. Add the lemon juice, rice malt syrup,Cinnamon and nutmeg directly to the dish.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

*Whisk up the flour, water, salt and pour over the apples. Give it a good stir make sure your apples are coated with all the ingredients. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

*In a bowl mix the rolled oats, almond meal, rice malt syrup, Cinnamon and butter/ coconut oil. Sprinkle the topping over the apples. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

*Place in the oven and bake for 40 - 55 minutes, until golden and apples bubbling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

*Serve warm with ice cream, cream, yogurt, coconut yogurt. ( I had to have mine with whipped cream 🤭)
